Oconomowoc, Wisconsin is located in Waukesha County, about 25 miles west of Milwaukee.  Its name is a Potowatomi Indian word for "waterfall."  It was founded in 1837. Drawn by the area's lakes and natural beauty, Lake Road in Oconomowoc was lined with country mansions surrounded by carefully manicured grounds in the late 1800's.  Presidents Grant, Taft, Cleveland, Coolidge, and Teddy Roosevelt all vacationed in the area.
